April. The birds have voiced the landscape
Île Thélème 1 April to 25 April 2024

The artist Boris Kocheishvili is an outstanding master of his time and one of the last representatives of the nonconformist generation who continues to live and work in Moscow. He has made his mark in graphics and painting, invented a new type of sculptural relief, and writes poetry. In 2021, the State Tretyakov Gallery hosted his major solo exhibition.

"Dialogues with the Artist" at Île Thélème is an intimate yet significant event dedicated to the artist’s birthday. From April 1 to April 25, 2024, the gallery space hosted an exhibition that showcased his new works, a presentation of a short documentary film about Kocheishvili, and a series of "dialogues"—with art historians, viewers, and, of course, the artist himself.

"April. The birds have voiced the landscape"—this haiku-style poem was written by Boris Kocheishvili in the early 1990s. A third of a century later, his voice could be heard within the walls of Île Thélème.
