Boris Kocheishvili. Me and Them
Boris Kocheishvili. Me and Them
The State Tretyakov Gallery 12 November 2021 to 9 January 2022

«Boris Kocheishvili. Me and Them» was the first solo exhibition of the artist at the State Tretyakov Gallery. The exhibition depicted paintings, graphics and bas‐reliefs dating back to 1960 and up to the latest pieces. The project included Kocheishvili’s poetry and a unique multimedia study which presented the works in a larger historical and social context.

Boris Kocheishvili, who first became famous with etchings on paper in the 1960s, is celebrated for his sculptural reliefs. Thanks to sculptor Adelaida Pologova, the artist came up with a new way of creating bas-reliefs that allow the plastic form to retain the dynamic freedom of visual forms.

The exhibition was also equipped with a catalogue which assembled the chronicles of the artist's life, the articles of art critics and art historians from the State Tretyakov Gallery, The State Russian Museum and independent researchers from Russia and the UK.
